Two sides that were relegated from the Premier League last season lock horns in the Championship in a match which should be interesting. Both teams are still trying to find their feet given the poor starts they’ve had. Cardiff have kicked things off with two defeats in three, while Huddersfield are winless in four games in all competitions this term. Who will triumph this time? Here’s the Big Game Focus. Bet on the Championship here.

Cardiff have lost two from three, but they still have issues on the road just like in the Premier League last season. They have conceded six goals away from home to Wigan and Reading so far. However, their 2-1 win at home to Luton was a stronger showing for Neil Warnock’s men. While they have tests to come on their travels, home comforts could be crucial this week as they look to see off Huddersfield once again.

The Terriers are currently managerless with Jan Siewert gone after just three Championship games. His record of one win from 19 sealed his fate given they are trying to get back to the top flight as quick as possible. This will be a difficult game for them and the loss of their manager compounds matters. Can they nick a surprise win in Wales?

Betting preview

Huddersfield Town have won none of their last 13 league games against Welsh opponents, failing to score in 10 of those games, including each of their last five. Neil Warnock has only lost two of his 14 league matches against Huddersfield. The Bluebirds also won their last home match 2-1 against Luton Town. Therefore, you can back a Home Win at odds of 2.05.

Three of the last five matches between these two have seen Over 2.5 Goals. All of Cardiff’s three matches in the Championship this season have seen three or more goals while two of the Terriers’ three matches in this competition have seen Over 2.5 Goals. So odds of 2.10 of Over 2.5 Goals look attractive.

Both teams have scored in two of the Bluebirds’ three Championship matches this season while Huddersfield have scored in all their three matches in the competition. For that reason, you can back Both Teams to Score at odds of 1.85.

Team news

Cardiff could give a first start to forward Isaac Vassell after two substitute appearances for the club. Callum Paterson faces a late fitness test whilst Marlon Pack could miss out. However, right-back Lee Peltier should return from an ankle problem to start.

Huddersfield caretaker boss Mark Hudson could hand former Cardiff striker Fraizer Campbell his debut.

Possible line-ups

Cardiff: Smithies, Bacuna, Flint, Morrison, Bennett, Ralls, Pack, Hoilett, Paterson, Vassell, Glatzel

Huddersfield: Grabara, Hadergjonaj, Elphick, Schindler, Kongolo, Chalobah, Bacuna, Hogg, Van La Parra, Mounie, Grant
