Denmark host the Republic of Ireland, a familiar opponent, in a Euro 2020 qualifier in Copenhagen. Irish sit top of Group D with six points from two games but the Danes present their sternest test so far. Can Mick McCarthy’s men tighten their grip on top of Group D? Bet on football here.

Denmark meet the Republic of Ireland for the fifth time in almost two years. The last two meetings have been goalless draws in the UEFA Nations League. However, their last victory over the Irishmen secured a precious World Cup spot in Russia. The Danes had great success in the inaugural tournament. With two wins over Wales and the draws against Ireland, they earned a promotion to the top tier.

The Irish won both of their opening games to move top of Group D. However, things are getting a little bit tough for them registering victories over Gibraltar and Georgia. McCarthy’s men in green were far from impressive in their last outing against Gibraltar, scoring just one goal in that win. Can they keep their winning run going?

Betting preview

Denmark are unbeaten at home against the visitors in 13 matches. The Republic of Ireland have also won just one of their last away matches in all competition, losing three and drawing three. The Danes have a better team led by Kasper Schmeichel and Christian Eriksen. Therefore, you can back a Home Win at odds of 1.50.

Three of the last five meetings between these two teams have been goalless draws. The visitor’s last seven games have seen two goals or less. Therefore, you can back Under 2.5 Goals at odds of 1.43.

In the last six matches between these two, both teams have not scored. The Danes have kept a clean sheet in each of their last seven home matches Therefore odds of 1.45 for Both Teams to Score No is appealing.

Team news.

Eriksen is back with Demark following defeat in the Champions League final with Tottenham.

For Ireland, Alan Browne has been ruled out with a calf knock, while Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers has pulled out with a fractured thumb.
