Liverpool and PSG will meet on Tuesday in one of the most anticipated matches of this opening round of Champions League fixtures. Interestingly, this will be their first ever meet up and both will want to take the bragging rights of having won the first encounter.
Liverpool shattered the record for most goals scored in a Champions League last season, whilst the Parisians smashed their own record, scoring more group stage goals than any other team in history. It goes without saying that these are two very attack-minded sides and we should be in for a thriller.
Liverpool ended last season as runners-up to the ever-dominant Real Madrid, the same team that ended PSG’s journey in Europe earlier in the season.
Betting preview
Both sides have some of the best frontlines in Europe, featuring Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani for PSG and Sadio Mane, Roberto Firminho and Mo Salah for the Reds. When you consider the fact that PSG have scored in each of their last eight away Champions League matches, Both Teams to Score is likely. Bet on this at odds of 1.35 here.
Liverpool won five of their seven Champions League home games last season, whilst the French outfit have lost eight of their last 11 Champions League away games against teams from the top five European league. There is serious value in backing a Home Win at odds of 2.25.
Liverpool have also seen Over 2.5 Goals from their last five outings and the same is true for PSG in three of their last five fixtures. Combining Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals gives you nice odds of 1.60.
