Champions League betting tips from Mr. Predictor, plus Europa League matches

Champions League betting tips

Hi everyone – who wants some Champions League betting tips? The Champions League is back this week, along with the Europa League, and I’m not wasting any time with these tips. Please read through them and, if you like them, you can find every fixture here.

Manchester City 2 v 2 Real Madrid – Friday 7 August – Champions League

Let’s start with the big game in the Champions League on Friday, where City hold a 2-1 lead ahead of the second leg. Pep Guardiola’s side have won nine of their 12 games since the restart, including all six at home. In those six wins at the Etihad they have scored a total of 24 goals.

Real Madrid need to win here. They have tasted victory in ten of their 11 matches since the season resumed, but will be without captain Sergio Ramos.

The first of my Champions League betting tips since March has to be Over 2.5 Goals (1.45). Both teams are in good form and it’s happened in eight of City’s last ten Champions League games, as well as nine of Madrid’s past ten.

Brentford 1 v 1 Fulham – Tuesday 4 August – Championship Play-off final

This game is known as the most valuable in football. The winner will be promoted to the Premier League, so I doubt either side takes many risks. In fact, six of the last seven play-off finals have featured Under 2.5 Goals.

There have also been fewer than three goals in four of the last five meetings between Brentford and Fulham. I’m backing it here at odds of 1.65. Brentford ended the season in poor form but fought back in the semi-finals to beat Swansea. Fulham, meanwhile, were left hanging on against Cardiff as they lost the second leg. I see an even game.

Inter Milan 2 v 0 Getafe – Wednesday 5 August – Europa League

The Europa League is back on Wednesday! This is a straight knockout match, so the winner will proceed to the quarter-finals.

Inter are unbeaten in their last eight games and have not conceded in any of the last four. Getafe, on the other hand, have not won any of their last six games and have only scored once in that time. I think the Italians will progress, and my bet is Under 2.5 Goals (1.65).

Manchester United 3 v 0 LASK Linz – Wednesday 5 August – Europa League

United won 5-0 in the first leg of this tie, so they are all but through to the next round. I still expect Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to field a strong side, though, since he won’t want his player to lose fitness.

The Red Devils have scored 15 goals in their last four Europa League games and their strikers have looked really dangerous since the restart. In contrast, LASK conceded three goals in each of their last two league games. I expect a comfortable home win and I wouldn’t be
surprised to see Over 2.5 Goals. Odds of 1.50 are available.

Juventus 2 v 1 Lyon – Friday 7 August – Champions League

Juventus are 1-0 down from the first leg. However, they have lost three of their last four games. Also, Both Teams to Score has been a winning bet in eight of their last ten games, so I don’t trust them to keep a clean sheet.

Lyon have only failed to score in two of their last 15 Champions League games – both teams have scored in 11 of those. Considering those stats, odds of 1.90 are very attractive.
