Hello! Last week was a successful one – I got all ten Match Tips correct! Let’s see what happens this week.
Borussia Dortmund 1 v 1 Inter Milan – Tuesday 5 November – Champions League – Both Teams to Score (1.65)
The balance of power swung Inter’s way when they beat Dortmund two weeks ago. Antonio Conte has transformed the Nerazzurri, who have won six of their seven away games in all competitions. Both Teams to Score had also been a good bet for them – it’s happened in six of those matches. Dortmund are unbeaten at home this season, though, and they have won their last three games at the Signul Iduna Park. It’s fair to say that Dortmund aren’t as consistent as the visitors, so I think a Draw is a sensible bet.
Chelsea 1 v 1 Ajax – Tuesday 5 November – Champions League – Both Teams to Score (1.50)
Chelsea did well to beat Ajax 1-0 earlier in the group phase, but the Dutch side had their chances and had a goal cruelly ruled out by the VAR. The Blues have won eight of their last ten games in all competitions and it’s clear that Frank Lampard is doing a wonderful job. He has only won three of this eight home games this season, though, and the defence still needs some work. Ajax love to attack and, like Chelsea, have won eight of their last ten matches. They are also unbeaten away from home in Europe since the start of last season. I’m going for a Draw.
Vitoria 1 v 2 Arsenal – Wednesday 6 November – Europa League – Over 2.5 Goals (1.55)
This Arsenal side are far from their best right now, but their “cup” team are giving their fans some reasons to be excited. They have won eight of their last ten games in the Europa League, including all three this season. They also score plenty of goals in Europe, where there have been Over 2.5 Goals in their last six games in the competition. Vitoria played well at the Emirates two weeks ago and were unfortunate to lose 3-2. They’ve lost all of their group games though, so I have to back the Gunners again.
Atalanta 1 v 4 Manchester City – Wednesday 6 November – Champions League – Over 3.5 Goals (1.65)
I expect plenty of goals here! Over 3.5 Goals have been scored in seven of Atalanta’s last ten games in all competitions. It helps that they’re playing Manchester City, to whom they lost 5-1 at the Etihad. In fact, Atalanta have lost all three of their games in the Champions League and have only won one of their last five games in all competitions. City have won nine of their last ten games and will see this as an opportunity to warm up for Sunday’s showdown with Liverpool. Even though Pep Guardiola will shuffle his pack, his squad still have the ability to win easily.
Borussia Monchengladbach 2 v 2 AS Roma – Thursday 7 November – Europa League – Both Teams to Score (1.55)
Borussia Monchengladbach can count themselves very fortunate to have left Italy with a point two weeks ago. They were 1-0 down to Roma with seconds to go when they were awarded a hugely controversial penalty and equalised. Roma have won all three of their games since, including an important victory over Napoli at the weekend. Both teams have scored in three of their last five games. Monchengladbach are top of the Bundesliga but they have taken just two points from their three games in the Europa League. Both teams have scored in their last four games. I’m backing the same here, and I’ll call a Draw.
