This week I’m tackling matches from the Premier League and Serie A. I think the two North London sides will struggle, but I don’t expect such issues for Chelsea or Juventus. If you like these tips, you can bet on the games here.
AS Roma 1 v 1 Napoli – Saturday 2 November – Serie A – Both Teams to Score (1.50)
AS Roma put four goals past Udinese in midweek despite playing most of the game with ten men. However, their home form is underwhelming. They have only won two of their five league games at the Stadio Olimpico this season, and Both Teams to Score has been a winning bet in four of those games. Napoli have been involved in several high-scoring away games at the start of the season, of which they have only lost one. That was a 4-3 defeat to Juventus, and they have scored 12 away goals in the Serie A. They’ve only lost one of their last five games against Roma, but their current form points to a Draw.
Arsenal 1 v 1 Wolves – Saturday 2 November – Premier League – Both Teams to Score (1.70)
I don’t expect another 5-5 draw for Arsenal! Unai Emery is likely to rotate his squad again, so we’ll see an almost identical team to the one that drew with Crystal Palace last week. The Gunners are fifth and are unbeaten at home this season, but keeping clean sheets has been an issue. Both sides have scored in four of their five league games at the Emirates. Wolves are unbeaten in their last five league games, including a win at Man City. They didn’t lose to Arsenal last season either, and I can see them leaving London with a point. I’ll back a Draw as well as Both Teams to Score – it’s happened in seven of Wolves’ ten league games.
Watford 1 v 3 Chelsea – Saturday 2 November – Premier League – Over 2.5 Goals (1.60)
Games between these two teams usually supply plenty of goals. There have been Over 2.5 Goals in nine of their last ten encounters, and Chelsea have won four of the last five. I’m going for the same this time. Watford are bottom of the Premier League, which is no shock given that they are the only team in Europe’s big five leagues without a league win this season. They have also only scored once in their last five games in all competitions. The Blues, meanwhile, are on a four-game winning streak in the Premier League. They have scored 16 goals in five away league games too. This is an Away Win.
Torino 1 v 2 Juventus – Saturday 2 November – Serie A – Juventus Win (1.55)
The Turin Derby usually goes the way of Juventus, who have won eight of the last ten clashes between these sides. In fact, Torino have not managed to beat them since 2015. The hosts have only lost one of their five home league games this season, though, so we shouldn’t expect them to be embarrassed here. Juventus needed a late penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo (who else?) to win in midweek. The reigning champions are unbeaten away from home this season, so I’m backing a narrow win for Maurizio Sarri’s side.
Everton 2 v 2 Tottenham – Sunday 3 November – Premier League – Both Teams to Score (1.60)
Both of these teams have been disappointing so far this season. Everton have lost six of their ten league games which, considering their aim was a place in the top seven, is alarming. That said, they have won three of their five home games and their confidence will have been boosted by their victory Watford on Tuesday in the EFL Cup. Tottenham have only won four out of 14 games this season in all competitions. None of those victories came on the road, where they have drawn four times and lost three. Despite the fact they beat Everton 6-2 here last season, I’m backing a Draw.
