Mr. Predictor takes on the major friendlies of the week

The big teams are now preparing for the new season and there are some great friendlies lined up this week. Click here to bet.

Barcelona 1 v 1 Chelsea – Tuesday 23 July – Friendly – Under 3.5 Goals (1.45)

These two teams have played out some classic matches over the years, but I don’t expect much from this friendly. This will be Barcelona’s first game of their pre-season schedule. They’ll also be without their Copa America stars, including Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho. Chelsea, on the other hand, have only won one of their friendlies this summer. They haven’t been convincing yet, so I think a Draw is a likely result.

PSV 2 v 1 Basel – Tuesday 23 July – Champions League qualifier – PSV Win (1.60)

PSV haven’t had a great summer so far, winning just one of their four friendlies. However, they won nine of their final ten home games at the end of last season. They also won both legs of their Champions League qualifier last August. Basel started their league campaign with a win and will be looking to qualify for the group stage after missing out last season. I see a Home Win.

Real Madrid 2 v 2 Arsenal – Tuesday 23 July – Friendly – Over 2.5 Goals (1.40)

Real Madrid’s only pre-season friendly to date ended in a 3-1 loss to Bayern and I get the impression that Zinedine Zidane is still experimenting with his new signings. Arsenal tend to perform well in their warm up games. They have only lost one of their last ten friendlies and have won all three this summer. All of those three matches have had Over 2.5 Goals, which I think will happen here.

Juventus 1 v 1 Inter Milan – Wednesday 24 July – Friendly – Under 2.5 Goals (1.90)

This is a meeting of the two previous Chelsea managers and both men will be seeking a first major win with their new clubs. Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus lost to Spurs on Sunday while Inter, under Antonio Conte, were beaten 1-0 by Man United. There have been Under 2.5 Goals in Inter’s last four games at the ICC, as well as four of their last five against Juventus. It’s a good bet here.

Tottenham 1 v 0 Man United – Thursday 25 July – Friendly – Both Teams to Score No (2.30)

Tottenham kicked off their summer with a dramatic win over Juventus and it looks as though the team are already performing at a high standard. United have been equally impressive, winning all of their three friendlies to date. These sides have a fairly even head to head record, but I fancy Spurs here. Note that Both Teams to Score No has been a winning bet in eight of their last ten meetings.
