Hello everyone! Here’s my preview to the Football Jackpot King this weekend.
Everton vs Arsenal (Premier League)
Everton are experiencing a mini-resurgence following Marco Silva’s departure. They beat Chelsea in their last home league game and now welcome Arsenal, whom they have beaten in two of their last three meetings at Goodison Park. The Gunners have only won one of their last five away league games and are in disarray right now, so it’s a good time to face them.
Tottenham vs Chelsea (Premier League)
Jose Mourinho has brought immediate stability to Spurs, winning four of his first five league games in charge. In contrast, Chelsea have lost four of their last five league games. Tottenham have won their past two home games against the Blues and, since this is their first derby at their new stadium, will be especially motivated. Oh, and Mourinho would probably like a win over his old team too!
Villarreal vs Getafe (La Liga)
Getafe occupy a top-four spot in La Liga, having won seven of their last ten games in the competition. They won 2-1 away to Villarreal in January and know that failure to repeat that result could see them drop down the table.
Real Betis vs Atletico Madrid (La Liga)
After a strong start to the season, Atletico are fifth in La Liga. They have just three wins in their last ten games in all competitions, all of which came at home. In fact, they’ve not won an away game since October 1. Their last five away league games have ended in a draw, which reflects their approach under Diego Simeone.
Mallorca vs Sevilla (La Liga)
Sevilla have only won one of their last four games, a cup fixture against Bergantinos who are struggling at the bottom of the third division. Mallorca are 17th in the standing with 15 points, but 14 of those have come on home turf. They’ve actually won three of their last five home games, beating Real Madrid and Villarreal along the way.
Udinese vs Cagliari (Serie A)
Cagliari are still unbeaten on the road this season, having won three and drawn four of their seven away games. They are fifth in the Serie A and would be higher, had it not been for two injury-time goals from Lazio. Udinese, in contrast, have lost six of their last ten games, leaving them just two points above the relegation zone.
Real Valladolid vs Valencia (La Liga)
Valladolid have gone five games without a goal which, in simple terms, is poor. Valencia have won six of their last ten games, including three of their last four away games. They haven’t lost to Valladolid since 2009 and beat them here in May.
AS Monaco vs Lille (Ligue 1)
This is a rematch of a Coupe de la Ligue game on Tuesday, which Lille won 3-0. However, AS Monaco were without several key players, including top scorer Wissam Ben Yedder and Gelson Martins. Those players will be back for this game as Monaco chase a sixth home win in a row in Ligue 1. Lille, on the other hand, have only taken five points from a possible 24 away from home this season.
Aston Villa vs Southampton (Premier League)
This is a relegation six pointer. Villa manager Dean Smith had the luxury of being able to rest some key players in his side’s midweek win over Liverpool, meaning he will have fresh legs available for this game. Southampton’s momentum was abruptly halted by defeat against West Ham last week. They have lost three of their last five away games too.
Rennes vs Bordeaux (Ligue 1)
Rennes have climbed to fourth in Ligue 1 after six wins in their last seven league games. Their last home game saw them beat Lazio 2-0 in the Europa League, but they’re aiming for a place in next season’s Champions League right now. Bordeaux, meanwhile, are on a four game winless streak in the league and have lost on their last two visits to Roazhon Park.
