The champions play their final home game of the season on Wednesday, but the result will matter more to the visitors. This is our preview to Liverpool v Chelsea. You can bet on the game here.
This is the moment that Liverpool’s players and fans have been waiting for as Jordan Henderson finally gets his hands on the Premier League trophy. However, before the ceremony there’s the small matter of a match against Chelsea.
The Reds’ form of late has been erratic. They have only won three of their seven matches since the restart and, following last week’s defeat to Arsenal, can no longer match Manchester City’s record of 100 points in a single season. Meanwhile, a draw with Burnley 11 days ago ended any hopes of completing the campaign with a 100% home record.
Chelsea come into the match off the back of a 3-1 win over Manchester United, which booked their place in the FA Cup final. The Blues eliminated Jurgen Klopp’s side en route to the final, and their midweek win will surely give them confidence.
A victory for Frank Lampard’s side at Anfield would confirm their place in the Champions League next season. A defeat, on the other hand, could leave them needing to beat Wolves on the final day. There is little room for error.
Will Liverpool end the season undefeated on home turf, or will Chelsea turn in another impressive display against a rival?

Team news
While Henderson will be on hand to lift the trophy at full time, injury has ruled him out of Liverpool’s remaining matches. Virgil Van Dijk is likely to retain the armband, while the athletic Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to deputise again in midfield.
Having played just three days earlier, Chelsea’s line-up is likely to include some fresh faces. Kepa Arrizabalaga should be recalled in goal and Tammy Abraham could come in to replace Olivier Giroud. Christian Pulisic missed Sunday’s game with a minor injury but will have, hopefully, recovered in time.
Possible teams
Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane
Chelsea: Arrizabalaga, James, Zouma, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Loftus-Cheek, Jorginho, Kovacic, Willian, Abraham, Pulisic
