Last season, an average of 3.76 cards were shown per game, compared to an average of 5.37 so far during the current campaign following Arsenal’s 1-0 win away to Crystal Palace on Monday night. ⚽
The Gunners managed to hold on to all three points despite Takehiro Tomiyasu becoming the sixth player to be sent off already this season. That figure already represents more than a quarter of the total amount of red cards (23) shown throughout the entire 2022-23 Premier League campaign.
