Gameweek 9 of the 2023-24 Premier League season begins on Saturday 21st October, with Arsenal making the short trip across London to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the evening kick-off.

Despite making a decent start to the season, Liverpool have plenty of reasons to feel hard done by that they do not have more points on the board, particularly with regards to their wrongfully disallowed goal against Tottenham during their 2-1 defeat in North London.
What better way for the Reds to return to winning ways than a local derby? They have won 27 of their last 28 meetings against Everton, with the Toffees’ only victory since October 2010 coming behind closed doors in February 2021.
Sean Dyche’s side have picked up in recent weeks, scoring three goals in victories against Brentford and Bournemouth, but Klopp’s side are a juggernaut at Anfield and we can only envisage one winner here. They should rack up the corners, with a few cards likely to be shown in a fiery derby.

Chelsea are another team playing in blue to have improved in recent outings, with Mauricio Pochettino’s beating Fulham and Burnley in their last two games. However, they will be handed arguably their biggest test under their new manager when they host their London rivals Arsenal on Saturday.
Gabriel Martinelli’s deflected effort handed the Gunners a crucial victory against potential title rivals Manchester City in the last Premier League match before the international break, moving them level on points with their arch-rivals Tottenham at the top of the table.
With Martinelli and Bukayo Saka set to flank the visitors’ attack once more, they should carry significantly more threat, and we think they can just about edge what is likely to be a tight and tense battle.
