Martin Dubravka (Newcastle)
The wheels are beginning to turn for Newcastle, who have taken ten points from their last five games. Their latest victory came at Sheffield United, where goalkeeper Dubravka made a string of important saves to preserve the Magpies’ treasured lead.
Ricardo Pereira (Leicester)
Pereira was the star of the show as Leicester recorded a seventh straight win in the Premier League. He completed five dribbles during the game and also contributed to his team’s clean sheet with three tackles and two interceptions.
Leander Dendoncker (Wolves)
Dendoncker’s first league goal of the season opened the scoring as Wolves returned to winning ways against West Ham. He should have perhaps doubled his tally in the second half, only to head the ball over the bar when well placed. Nonetheless, this game was a highlight for a player who has appeared in all of Wolves’ league games this season.
Adam Webster (Brighton)
The Seagulls claimed their biggest away win in their Premier League history as they put Arsenal to the sword on Tuesday night. Webster put his side 1-0 up at the Emirates and looked rarely troubled by the Gunners’ forwards.
Christian Fuchs (Leicester)
On the opposite flank to Pereira, Fuchs made his first league appearance since August but showed no signs of rustiness. The Austrian won an unsurpassed five aerial duels and, like Pereira, made three tackles and two interceptions. He’s unlikely to reclaim a regular birth from Ben Chilwell, but he still has a role to play in this ambitious Foxes outfit.
Rodri (Manchester City)
With Fernandinho seemingly having made a permanent transition to centre back, Rodri is free to make the defensive midfield role his own at Manchester City. His performance against Burnley was arguably his best so far in a City shirt. He had 119 touches of the ball and completed 94 passes (both match highs), before capping a fine performance with a well-taken goal.
Scott McTominay (Manchester United)
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was quick to sing McTominay’s praises following United’s win over Tottenham. The academy product was hurried back into the line-up and instantly brought composure and physical presence to the midfield. His manager was quick to describe him as “undroppable”.
Aaron Mooy (Brighton)
It was always unlikely that Mooy was going to follow Huddersfield back down to the Championship last summer, and Brighton are the ones to be benefitting from his services. No player made more tackles than he did at the Emirates (four), while he also assisted the winner with a pinpoint cross.
Sadio Mane (Liverpool)
The decision to rest Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah for the Merseyside Derby left Mane as the only regular member of Liverpool’s front three to start the match. Within 17 minutes he had supplied two assists and he added a goal of his own before the break as the Reds ran riot. In the Senegalese forward, Jurgen Klopp has a reliable star.
Divock Origi (Liverpool)
His heroics in last season’s Champions League run made Origi a hero at Anfield, and his popularity only grew on Wednesday with a brace against Everton. Having scored a last-minute winner in the derby a year ago, the Belgian is fast becoming the scourge of Liverpool’s local rivals.
Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)
A goal in each half from Rashford gave United a much needed win ahead of Sunday’s Manchester Derby. The game was only six minutes old when he broke the deadlock, and he restored his side’s lead shortly after half time as he won and converted a penalty. This was a determined display.
