Three Wolves players and two Bournemouth forwards make our team!
Tom Heaton (Burnley)
In the end Burnley left Old Trafford with just a point, but Heaton’s heroics ensured that Manchester United did not claim all three. The former Red Devils’ keeper made seven saves during the match, and reminded everybody why summer signing Joe Hart is sitting on the bench.
Fabian Schar (Newcastle)
Who backed Newcastle to beat Manchester City? Six tackles and six clearances have earned Schar a place in our Team for the second matchweek in a row. The win was Newcastle’s first against the Citizens in the Premier League since 2005, and lifts them five points clear of the relegation zone.
Harry Maguire (Leicester)
Leicester were unlucky to only draw against Liverpool in a match that saw them create plenty of chances. The only one they took, however, came seconds before the half-time whistle when Maguire steered the ball past Alisson. He was fortunate not to be sent off for a last-ditch challenge on Sadio Mane, though…
Romain Saiss (Wolves)
The Moroccan international has become a key member of the Wolves set up of late and opened the scoring against West Ham with a powerful header. That was one of six aerial duels he won in the match as Wolves kept just their second clean sheet in 15 matches.
Matt Doherty (Wolves)
Doherty has possibly been Wolves’ most consistent performer this season, and the wing back gave another dominant performance against West Ham. Despite playing on the wing, he had 80 touches of the ball, while only two other player completed more than his 43 successful passes. He is an underrated figure in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Calum Chambers (Fulham)
The Arsenal loanee has made the defensive midfield position his own in recent weeks, and he scored his first goal for Fulham as they fought back against Brighton. He also recorded 95 touches during the game; only team-mate Jean-Michael Seri completed more.
Joao Moutinho (Wolves)
West Ham had been riding their luck against Wolves for an hour before their resistance was finally broken. Two corners from Moutinho were converted by Roman Saiss and Raul Jiminez to set up back-to-back wins for the hosts. The Euro 2016 winner now has four assists in his last two league games, twice as many as he achieved in his first 22 appearances.
Ben Chilwell (Leicester)
Chilwell made 16 clearances during Leicester’s draw with Liverpool, and claimed an assist when his header into the area was converted by Maguire. He also won seven aerial duels, more than any other player.
David Brooks (Bournemouth)
Has Brooks been one of the best signings of the season? The Wales international set up Josh King for the opener against Chelsea, before adding his own name to the scoresheet just after the hour mark. He has now contributed to ten goals in his debut Premier League season.
Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham)
What a win! Fulham trailed Brighton at half time on Tuesday but fought back with four second-half goals, two of which came from Mitrovic. The Serbian’s goal tally this season now stands at ten, but the pressure is on him to ensure that Fulham avoid relegation.
Josh King (Bournemouth)
Who needs Callum Wilson? Well, maybe Chelsea do! King scored twice and assisted twice in a memorable second half as Bournemouth brushed the Blues aside. First he beat Kepa Arrizabalaga from 15 yards out, before he was left with a simple tap-in from Junior Stanislas’ cross. This was Chelsea’s biggest league defeat since 1996.
