Players from nine different teams comprise our Team of the Week. Bet on the Premier League here.

Ben Foster (Watford)

Watford remain winless in the Premier League this season following defeat to Chelsea, but Foster’s efforts should not go unrecognised. The veteran shot-stopper made eight saves during the game and, bizarrely, nearly netted a last-gasp equaliser with an instinctive header. Alas, his counterpart Kepa Arrizabalaga denied him the headlines.

Kyle Walker (Manchester City)

Walker was reinstated to the Manchester City line-up for the visit of Southampton and was instrumental in his side’s comeback. The champions had trailed for almost an hour when his cross found Sergio Aguero to equalise. He then completed the turnaround with a crisp volley.

Steve Cook (Bournemouth)

After failing to score in three league games in October, Bournemouth only needed the one goal to see off Manchester United on Saturday. It was in defence where they impressed though, with captain Cook making nine clearances and three interceptions. It was his side’s first win over the Red Devils in four years.

Caglar Soyuncu (Leicester)

Harry Maguire’s departure from Leicester over the summer has not halted the club’s momentum, as replacement Soyuncu has been a key component of what is currently the Premier League’s best defence. He kept another clean sheet at Crystal Palace, where he opened the scoring with his first goal for the club.

Andy Robertson (Liverpool)

Robertson’s first league goal since the 2017/18 came at a crucial time as it seemed Liverpool’s unbeaten run was to come to an end. Aston Villa had defended well up until that point, but nobody picked up Robertson as he stole in at the back post to equalise.

Leandro Trossard (Brighton)

What an impact! Trossard was introduced from the bench on the hour mark against Norwich and broke the deadlock just nine minutes later. He then crossed for fellow substitute Shane Duffy to double the Seagulls’ lead. Will he start next weekend?

John Lundstram (Sheffield United)

Lundstram helped himself to a brace as the Blades blew Burnley away before the break at Bramall Lane. The midfielder fired home twice at the far post as Chris Wilder’s side extended their unbeaten run to four matches.

Jonjo Shelvey (Newcastle)

Until this weekend Newcastle had failed to score twice in a league game this campaign. They put paid to that against West Ham with a swashbuckling attacking display. Shelvey scored his side’s third with a free kick, having already created the opening goal from a set piece. The result leaves Newcastle four points clear of the relegation zone.

Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Liverpool left it late to win at Aston Villa and extend their unbeaten run. The league leaders were a goal down until the 87th minute but have Mane to thank for the victory. It was his cross that was converted by Andy Robertson, before the Senegalese striker snatched all three points with a deft header.

Lys Mousset (Sheffield United)

Having scored in Sheffield United’s last two games, Mousset became creator-in-chief against Burnley as he registered assists for all three of his side’s goals. While he found it hard to break into the side at Bournemouth, his talents are not going to waste at the newly-promoted side.

Tammy Abraham (Chelsea)

Chelsea’s winning run in the league stands at five games following a dominant display against bottom side Watford. Abraham ended his goal drought when he opened the scoring after just five minutes, before turning provider in the second half for Christian Pulisic. Frank Lampard has commented lately on the pressure to start Michy Batshuayi or Olivier Giroud – they’ll have to wait a while longer at this rate.
