The Bundesliga is back and we have a cracker to start us off this Saturday. Archrivals Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 clash in the Revierderby as Germany’s top-flight league resumes. Here’s the Revierderby preview of this mouth-watering showdown. Bet on this game here.

Dortmund will be looking to continue where they left off in the Bundesliga, which was halted by the current global health crisis, when they return to action this weekend. Before the league was suspended, Lucien Favre’s side had registered four successive league victories. However, this weekend’s clash is huge. They face their neighbours Schalke in a match that will test their title credentials this term. The hosts last won this fixture at home in 2015. Can they get the three points this time without their fans inside the stadium?

Whilst Dortmund were on a four-game winning streak before the league was halted, Schalke were in poor form. They were winless in six games in all competitions. Still, they head into this massive game with a slight advantage having beaten Dortmund twice in the last four encounters. Can they upset the hosts and take the bragging rights?

Betting preview

Dortmund have won their last four Bundesliga matches. The away side are winless in their last six games in all competitions. They are also winless in their last six away games in the league. Dortmund have not lost a home game in the Bundesliga since May 2019. Although, the visitors have had a little more success in this fixture recently, their form away from home shifts the advantage to Dortmund. Therefore, you can back a Borussia Dortmund Win at odds of 1.50.

Seven of the last 11 matches between these two have witnessed Over 2.5 Goals. Eight of Dortmund’s last ten league games have seen three or more goals scored.  For that reason, you can back Over 2.5 Goals at odds of 1.60.

Both Teams to Score has won in four of the last six fixtures between these bitter rivals. Dortmund have kept just four clean sheets in their last ten league matches while Schalke have scored in three of their last three visits to Signal Iduna. You can back Both Teams to Score at odds of 1.70.

Revierderby preview: Team news

For Dortmund, Lucien Favre will have almost a full squad to pick from, with a few exceptions. Dan-Axel Zagadou, who is ruled out with knee ligament damage, will miss out while skipper Marco Reus just returned to training after recovering from a muscle injury. Midfielders Axel Witsel and Emre Can are unlikely to feature.

Schalke 04 have fewer injury issues, Benjamin Stambouli, Ozan Kabak and captain Omar Mascarell are likely to be unavailable for the Ruhr derby nonetheless.
