The Serie A returns this weekend. Most teams have bolstered their squads as they get ready for another exciting season. Cristiano Ronaldo was tipped to win last season’s Golden Boot but was shocked by 36-year-old Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella, who took home the trophy. Can the Portuguese do it this time? Here are the Serie A Top Scorer Outrights. Bet on the Serie A here.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 2.55

At 34 years of age, Cristiano Ronaldo, a player who will go down as one of the greats, is still going strong and is tipped to win the Golden Boot in Serie A this season. The Portuguese scored 21 goals for Juventus last campaign, coming in fourth in the top-scoring charts. Ronaldo is still chasing his first Golden Boot trophy in four years and even though he’s entering his mid-30s, he still has the pedigree and quality to battle it out at the top level.

Krysztof Piatek – 6.00

Twenty-four-year-old AC Milan and Poland striker Piatek stole the headlines in Serie A last season. He scored 22 goals and finished third in the goal-scoring charts only behind top scorer Quagliarella and Atalanta hitman Duvan Zapata. Expectations are high given he’s also been handed the famed No.9 shirt at Milan this season. Since Filippo Inzaghi’s retirement in 2012, eight players have worn the number on their back and have never lived up to the expectations, but Piatek has shown signs he can. His overnight success at Milan since arriving in January makes him a worthy candidate for the Golden Boot.

Mauro Icardi – 6.25

Argentinian and Inter Milan striker Icardi has been a consistent goal scorer in the Serie A. He has scored 102 Serie A goals in the last five seasons, winning the golden boot in the 2017/2018 season. Therefore, he is a good bet for the Golden Boot this coming season. However, his on and off the pitch issues are threatening to derail his career. The 26-year-old was stripped of the captaincy in February with the club also going ahead to sign another striker in Romelu Lukaku. Constant speculation over his future, fuelled by his wife, and agent, Wanda Nara, has not helped his relationship with supporters or team-mates. Despite the issues that surround him, there is no denying the importance of Icardi to Inter on the pitch. Can he rise to the occasion this season?

Romelu Lukaku – 7.75

Lukaku finally joined Inter Milan after protracted speculation throughout the summer, uniting with Antonio Conte who has been a long admirer of the Belgian striker. Lukaku’s form in front of goal has been solid although the last season with Manchester United was disappointing. The Belgian scored 113 goals in the English top flight. In Italy, he’ll get some good service but can he regain his best form and fight for the Golden Boot? The 26-year-old will be fighting for a starting spot with Icardi, something which will bring the best out of him. Therefore, he has a realistic chance of winning the Golen Boot.

Duvan Zapata – 9.25

Zapata was instrumental for Atalanta last season, scoring 23 goals in Serie A as the Bergamo club stunned everyone by finishing third in Serie A, qualifying for the Champions League in the process. Zapata has spent six seasons in Serie A and has hit double figures in each of his last three campaigns, most of them with smaller clubs. Last season was breakthrough for the Colombian international but can he keep up this season?
