Liverpool face a difficult away trip to Newcastle, Cardiff have probably one last chance to save themselves, while the top four race is getting more engrossing. Here are some of the Things to look out for in the Premier Lague this weekend. Bet on the Premier League here.

Cardiff’s last throw of the dice

Cardiff’s Premier League survival hopes are hanging by the thinnest of threads and heading into the final rounds of the season, they are four points off 17th placed Brighton. Furthermore, their goal difference is far inferior to Brighton’s; therefore they probably need wins in both their remaining matches to stand a chance. However, they will have to work harder given they lost 1-0 away to the already relegated Fulham last weekend and have fallen to defeat in eight of their last ten Premier League matches.

Top four race

This is probably the Premier League’s most intriguing top four race in recent years. All the contending teams are out of form. Spurs suffered a humiliating 1-0 defeat at home to West Ham last time out, Arsenal lost their third successive league match and United could only draw with Chelsea at home. Arsenal and Chelsea’s away form is wanting. Chelsea have to visit the King Power Stadium while Arsenal have a difficult trip against Burnley in their last match of the season. United have a much easier schedule with their last matches being Huddersfield and Cardiff. Spurs have lost a staggering 12 games this season already and have a tough match against Bournemouth this weekend. No team can afford to falter. However, Chelsea and Arsenal have a chance to play in Europe if they win the Europa League.

Liverpool to end poor record at St James’s Park?

Premier League title contenders Liverpool have a difficult trip to St James’s Park on Saturday, a clash that they must win to keep their title hopes alive. It seems ridiculous that, with their outstanding season, Liverpool are still very likely to end the season without any silverware whatsoever. Furthermore, the Reds’ record away at Newcastle is dismal. They haven’t won there since 2013. Nevertheless, this is Liverpool’s best ever league campaign and they have lost just once all season. They’ll need to scrape out a result here if possible considering Rafa Benitez is missing some key members of his squad.

Arsenal to end dreadful run?

The Gunners have slipped to two points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea after losing three consecutive matches conceding nine goals. Arsenal have been terrific at home, although they suffered a painful 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace recently. Before that, they had won 14 matches an in 16 league games since an opening loss to Manchester City. Brighton have shown fighting spirit in their last few matches but Chris Hughton’s men have lost five and won none of their last seven league games. If Arsenal puts up a focused performance against a stubborn Brighton side, they might register another win at home.

Race for the 7th spot

Wolves and Watford are having phenomenal campaigns by their standards and both are still in contention for a seventh spot finish in the Premier League. Nevertheless, Everton and Leicester will be looking to spoil the party for these two, making it an absorbing battle for seventh place. Wolves have the upper hand though. They sit seventh with 54 points, four more than Leicester City and five more than Everton and Watford. Leicester and Watford have difficult fixtures this weekend where they’ll be facing Man City and Chelsea respectively. If they both lose, Wolves and Everton will have a better chance of finishing in the final Europa League spot.
