Things to look out for in Premier League: Matchweek 11

Man United are hoping to make it four away wins in a row, Arsenal are looking to put behind a poor run of form and Marco Silva will be fighting for his job this weekend in the Premier League. Here are Things to look out for in the Premier Legue: Matchweek 11. Bet on the Premier League here.

Man United good form to continue?

After a poor start to the season, Manchester United are slowly getting into their groove. Three away wins on the bounce in three different competitions saw them end a terrible run of four matches without a run. Sunday’s win over Norwich City saw them move out of the bottom half of the Premier League. Still, they’re still in a precarious position in the table. They are seventh with 13 points, just three more than 16th-placed Everton. However, they are facing a Bournemouth team that has not won any of their last four league games. United have beaten the Cherries in five of their last six meetings. The Red Devils will have to earn the three points given how tough it is to win at the Vitality Stadium.

Wolves to heap more pressure on Unai Emery?

Arsenal are in dire straits at the moment. They blew a two-goal lead against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday to draw 2-2. On Wednesday in the League Cup, they blew another two-goal lead against Liverpool in a match they went on to lose 5-4 on penalties. All this falls in the court of the manager who is increasingly coming under severe pressure. On Saturday, they host Wolves, a team that won away at Man City a few weeks ago. The Gunners also failed to beat Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in their two games last season, drawing one and losing at Molineux. Wolves are a difficult team to play against. Can Arsenal rise to the occasion and get a much-needed win?

More pain for three bottom-placed teams

Watford, Norwich City and Southampton are the teams occupying the bottom three places of the Premier League. They are all winless in their last combined 15 games and that poor record might continue this weekend. Watford host Chelsea, Southampton visit champions City while Norwich travel to the Amex to play Brighton. Those are difficult matches for those three. Moreover, these three teams have the top three worst defensive records in the league. Things look bleak for Southampton, who lost 9-0 last week and prepare to face a City side who beat them in the League Cup on Tuesday. Norwich have suffered seven defeats in the league, more than any other team, while rock-bottom Watford are winless.

Palace impressive record against Leicester

The Eagles have won their last four Premier League meetings with Leicester by an aggregate score of 13-1 and the Foxes have not won any away league match on a Sunday since April 2016, drawing three and losing six. The Foxes are coming off a 9-0 demolition of Southampton while the Eagles snatched a point at the Emirates against Arsenal. Roy Hodgson’s side have also developed a reputation for being giant-killers. They’ve already beaten United this season at Old Trafford which means that Leicester could be in for a long evening at Selhurst Park.

Managerial casualty on Sunday?

Everton’s 2-0 win over Watford in the League Cup spared Marco Silva’s blushes as well as sending the Toffees to the quarters. Everton got the job done but it was a less than convincing performance. Things don’t get any easier for them as they’ll be playing Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. A seventh league defeat on Sunday will probably be the last straw for Silva who is yet to prove he’s the right man to lead the Toffees forward.

Spurs are unbeaten in their last 13 Premier League matches against Everton, winning seven and drawing six, their joint-longest such run against the Toffees in the top flight. Mauricio Pochettino is also under immense pressure. They let a one-goal advantage slip against Liverpool last weekend which resulted in their fourth defeat in the league. Can the Argentine steady the ship?
