Top 5 Bets in AFCON: Group fixtures

We have an eventful week of football which includes mouth-watering matches in the Africa Cup of Nations. We’ve looked at the odds and stats and came up with the Top 5 Bets for you to consider. Bet on AFCON here.

Egypt v DR Congo – Under 2.5 Goals – 1.65

Egypt will continue their push for glory this week, as they are set to play DR Congo for their second game of the group stage. They come into this game having won four of their last five meetings with DR Congo, so we expect them to come out on top here. Their recent tournament scoring record is a cause for concern though, as they have been a low-scoring side. They have also seen Under 2.5 Goals in four of their last five matches, which means we see value in backing that and it promises value.

Senegal v Algeria – BTTS – 2.00

Senegal and Algeria are two of the main contenders for glory in Egypt and it will be interesting to see how they fare when they meet on Thursday. Both went into the Africa Cup of Nations expecting big things from their talented squads and they claimed victories in their opening fixtures. Algeria have been conceding goals after seeing both teams finding the back of the net in three of their last four fixtures. They also have very good forwards and yo can definitely expect goals at both ends here.

Morocco v Ivory Coast – BTTS No – 1.75

Morocco and Ivory Coast started with wins in their Africa Cup of Nations campaign and now they will take on each other for their second group games. These teams always tend to produce tight encounters and we should expect nothing less in this one. Both Teams to Score No has landed in three of Ivory Coast’s last five and the same is true in four of Algeria’s last five. The head to head record also points to a likelihood of Both Teams to Score No happening as this has landed in all their last five encounters.

Kenya v Tanzania – Home Win – 2.10

Kenya and Tanzania lost their opening clashes and the pair are chasing a victory, in what could be a playoff for third place and a potential spot in the last 16. Kenya booked their place in Egypt thanks to a solid defence as that how they tend to set up. Their standout player is Tottenham’s anchor-man Victor Wanyama. Tanzania know they are out of their depth at this tournament and we can expect them to line up in similar version. Kenya have won two of the last three encounters between them and that looks likely to happen again.

Tunisia v Mali – Over 2.5 Goals – 2.45

Mali began their campaign in emphatic style as they beat Mauritania 4-1 in their opening fixture but can they do the same when they play Tunisia. Equally, there are plenty of talented attacking players in Tunisia’s side including Naim Sliti and Wahbi Khazri. Mali have Moussa Marega who scored 33 Primeira Liga goals for Porto in two seasons. Tunisia have seen Over 2.5 Goals in two of their last three matches Mali have seen Over 2.5 Goals in four of their last five matches and this could be on the cards when they play each other.
