Top 5 Bets of the week: 12-15 March

It’s another exciting week of football which includes nail-biting ties in the Champions League and Europa league. We’ve looked at the odds and the stats and here are some selections you should consider. You can bet on European football here.

Juventus v Atletico Madrid – Juventus Win – 1.70

Juventus head into this fixture with a two-goal deficit and without an away goal. The Bianconeri have a solid home record in the competition. Before losing to Real Madrid in the quarters last season, you’ll have to go all the way back to 2013 where they lost a home match in the Champions League knock out stages. However, Manchester United defeated them in the group stage this season at home. They have still lost only three of their 36 European matches at the Juventus Stadium.  Despite the 4-0 defeat in Dortmund, Atlético have lost only two of their last ten European away games, although they have won only three. Juventus are steamrolling their way to another Scudetto and given they have a star like Cristiano Ronaldo, who has tormented Atletico in recent times, they are huge favourites in this one.

Barcelona v Olympique Lyon – Both Teams to Score – 1.80

Barca are yet to taste defeat in this season’s Champions League. The first leg ended goalless and both teams have an equal chance to progress for the quarter-final. The hosts have been in the Round of 16 every year from 2004/05 onwards, winning 12 of those 14 ties. The Blaugrana are also unbeaten 11 knockout games at the Camp Nou. Barca have also found the net in all their home fixtures this season. Meanwhile, Lyon have only failed to score twice in ten matches away from home in the Champions League. They’ve already scored twice this season at the Etihad against favourites Manchester City so given Barcelona’s defensive frailties, Lyon are capable of scoring.

Bayern Munich v Liverpool – Bayern Munich Win – 2.10

The first leg at Anfield did not live up to the hype and ended in a goalless draw. Bayern are in sensational form at home against English clubs. They have emerged victorious in their last four matches while Liverpool have suffered four successive away defeats in Champions League. The home side have won all but two of the 23 UEFA ties in which they drew the first leg away from home and considering Liverpool’s away form in all competitions, Bayern stands a very good chance progressing.

Dynamo Kiev v Chelsea – Chelsea Win – 2.15

Chelsea won the first leg 3-0 at home and head into this fixture feeling confident and the visitors face an uphill task at home of overturning a three-goal deficit. Dynamo have a wealth of experience against English teams losing just three of their last 14 home matches, winning five of them. However, Chelsea are unbeaten in12 matches in the Europa League. The visitors have also won 11 of the 15 previous UEFA ties after athefirst-leg victory at home. Odds are stacked against Dynamo and Chelsea should be too strong for them.

Inter Milan v Eintracht Frankfurt – Inter Milan Win – 2.05

A terrific penalty save from Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp leaves this tie waiting for its first goal and a cagey encounter is expected at the San Siro. The Nerazzurri are unbeaten in six European home games. Inter have won 15 of the 20 UEFA competition ties including all of the last six in which they have recorded a first-leg away draw. Frankfurt’s away record in the Europa League is six wins, two draws and one loss. Inter will have to be clinical with their chances to put away a stubborn side like Frankfurt. Overall, Inter are well-equipped in all departments compared to their visitors and a win is there for the taking.
