This week promises a lot of action from the Champions League to the Super Cup and the return of League football in Spain and Germany. Here the top five bets of the week and remember you can bet on football here.

Ajax v PAOK – Champions League – BTTS – 1.75 – 13th August

Ajax returned to winning ways in the Eredivisie at the weekend as they beat Emmen 5-0 to claim their first three points of the season. The hosts have seen both teams score in eight of their last ten matches in the Champions League. They meet a PAOK side who have seen both teams find the net in ten of their last 12 Champions League ties. Those clashes include meetings between these two, with the last six clashes each seeing both teams score, with 23 goals scored in total.

Celtic v Cluj – Champions League – Home Win – 1.50 – 13th August

Celtic drew 1-1 in their first leg trip to Romania last week and they will look to follow that up by putting up a good show at home. The Romanian outfit have been capped by UEFA after FFP issues, so they are bringing a limited squad while sweating over some injury doubts. Celtic have a strong home record in Europe as they have won four of their last five in this competition at Celtic Park. They won three of five here in the Europa League last term as they went to the first knockout round, while they have won 12 of their last 14 home qualifying ties in this competition.

Liverpool v Chelsea – UEFA Super Cup – Home Win with -1 Handicap – 2.45 – 14th August

Liverpool and Chelsea experienced two different emotions at the weekend as the Premier League season kicked off in earnest. Liverpool had a night to remember following their 4-1 thrashing of Norwich at Anfield, whilst Chelsea were duly hammered 4-0 at Old Trafford. Considering the contrasting weekend performances from these teams, a comfortable win for Jurgen Klopp’s men looks to be on the cards. We like the look of a Liverpool -1 Handicap Win here.

Bayern Munich v Hertha – Bundesliga – Over 2.5 Goals – 1.40 -16th August

Bayern Munich have a chance to win against Hertha Berlin in their first league fixture of the season. Both teams are very good at scoring goals if their previous record is anything to go by. All but one of Hertha’s last five fixtures have seen Over 2.5 Goals scored and the same is true in three out of five for Bayern. We certainly expect a number of goals here and Over 2.5 Goals should land.

Athletic Bilbao v Barcelona – La Liga – Away Win – 1.70 – 16th August

Athletic Bilbao will host Barcelona for their first game of the season in what is expected to be an absolute cracker. Barcelona have had a fantastic pre-season, losing one of their last five fixtures, and they will be eager to pick it up from there. The last two meetings between the two ended in draws but this is the beginning of the season and Barcelona have been busy in the transfer market. Their new signings will be eager to make an impression here and therefore we are backing an Away Win.
