Manchester United make the trip to North London on Sunday where they will face Tottenham Hotspur in an exhilarating Premier League clash. The game will kick off at 16:30 (UTC) at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in what is being dubbed as a six pointer.
As we head into the business end of the season, Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglu have come under great scrutiny for their teams recent display’s. All eyes will be on this fixture, as both sides have performed below par for the majority of the 2024/25 campaign and are in desperate need of a victory. Postecoglu’s side come into this fixture in extremely poor form, with just one win from their last eight fixtures in the English top flight. During this run, Spurs have disappointingly dropped points against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton and Leicester City, all of whom are battling it out at the wrong end of the table. Spurs currently sit one point behind the Manchester outfit, so a victory on Sunday is imperative if they want to move up the table and attempt to salvage what has been a disastrous campaign so far.
Whereas United are in a similar vein of form, as they have won just twice in their last eight Premier League games, and also dropping points to relegation strugglers such as Wolves along the way. Amorim was appointed as manager at Old Trafford in November, in an attempt to steady the ship at a bleak time at the football club, but he has somewhat failed to do so, as they remain firmly in the bottom half of the league standings. However, for the first time in several years, the United faithful have seen a clear identity and approach to the style of play.. The Portuguese manager has taken a different route to previous managers, by off-loading the ‘bad eggs’ in the group such as Marcus Rashford, who has recently joined Aston Villa on-loan.
This game has all the credentials to be a cracking game, with both sides in desperate need of all three points.
