Mr. Predictor's tips as Premier League champions Liverpool face Man City

Premier League Champions 2019/20

There’s a big game on Thursday as Premier League champions Liverpool take on previous winners Manchester City. Before that, we’ve got important matches for Barcelona and Chelsea. Bet here.

Manchester City v Liverpool – Thursday 2nd July – Premier League

City’s defeat at Chelsea last week handed Liverpool the title for the first time in 30 years. The Reds truly deserve it. They are 23 points clear and have only lost two of their last 70 league matches.

This will be their first game as Premier League champions. They have only once in their last seven games against City in all competitions, and the hosts are without Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho. Double Chance X2 at odds of 1.55 looks promising.

Barcelona v Atletico – Tuesday 30th June – La Liga

Barcelona’s draw at Celta Vigo on Saturday means that they have fallen behind in the title race. The reigning champions are unbeaten since the restart and have only conceded twice.

It’s a similar story for Atletico, who are also yet to lose and, like the hosts, have only let in two goals. Their away form this season hasn’t been amazing, though. They’ve only scored 18 goals in 16 away games this campaign. They also haven’t beaten Barcelona in the league since 2010.

Barcelona have won 15 of their 16 league games at the Nou Camp this term and have kept clean sheet in the last four of those matches. Under 2.5 Goals is available at odds of 1.75.

Bournemouth v Newcastle – Wednesday 1st July – Premier League

I worry for Bournemouth, who have lost seven of their last ten league games. I thought that Eddie Howe might be able to fix their problems during the break, but they haven’t even managed to score since the season resumed.

Newcastle, on the other hand, are safe from relegation and have only conceded twice in their last five league games.

Both of these teams have scored 29 goals so far this season in the Premier League – only Crystal Palace and Norwich have scored fewer. Given that Steve Bruce’s side are well-organised defensively, and that Bournemouth are struggling, I think Under 2.5 Goals at odds of 1.55 makes sense.

West Ham v Chelsea Wednesday 1st July – Premier League

This is a London derby and both sides need all three points. Chelsea’s win over City last week not only made Liverpool Premier League champions, but also maintained their own lead over Wolves and Manchester United. The Blues are on a five-game winning run and only Liverpool and Man City have won more away games in the Premier League this season.

In contrast, West Ham have lost 2-0 in both games since the restart. That means that they have now suffered defeat in seven of their last ten league games, and relegation looks increasingly possible.

Even though Chelsea have actually only won one of their last five games against the Irons, current form is too good to ignore. I’m backing a Chelsea Win at odds of 1.60.

Atalanta v Napoli – Thursday 2nd July – Serie A

This should be an exciting game. Atalanta are 12 points above Napoli and have won nine games in a row in all competitions. They’ve managed to score ten goals in just three games since the season resumed.

However, they have also conceded in all nine of those victories. Napoli have also been in winning form since the restart, and they have found the net in 12 of their 14 away league games this season.

Both Teams to Score has been a winning bet in four of these teams’ last five meetings, and I’m backing it this time at odds of 1.50.
